Hug-A-Tree Program

Inspired by the search for nine year old Jimmy Beveridge in 1981 in southern California, and initiated by the caring heart of Ab Taylor, the Hug-a-Tree and Survive program teaches children how to survive in the woods should they become lost. The program was developed to educate children in a select few of the most basic and vital survival principles. It was specifically designed for children between the ages of 7 and 11 but can be effective with slightly younger and older children. More information can be found on the National Association for Search and Rescue website.

The program is free to you and taught by experienced SAR volunteers. Please fill out the below request if you have a need for a class.
